Her words, and ne’er a truer one spoken.

XS Malarkey continues its excellent run in the freshly refurbished 53Two Theatre this week with a headline set from Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee Lucy Pearman. The lighthearted clown is full to the brim with charm, props and a love of the celestial. A treat to see live and one that will no doubt will light up the arches of Watson Street with her daft and brilliant energy.

Side Street Studio is not long into its life as a venue in the city but it’s certainly making a name for itself with its regular comedy night. This Thursday it will feature the meandering joys of Harriet Dyer with a support lineup that’s stacked with the best new comics currently working in the North, chief among them Frankie Monroe, who recently won the BBC New Comedy Award.
