The Women In Comedy Festival brings tours from Helen Bauer and Isy Suttie to The Frog, whilst Charlie George headlines Blizzard at Gullivers.
The Women In Comedy Festival brings you a midweek pick-me-up of delightful comedy from Isy Suttie and her new show ‘Jackpot’. A return to live stand-up for the star of Peep Show, Shameless and Man Down, Suttie is looking at life as a mum and trying to reclaim the buzz of being a kid where everything can shock and surprise. A joyful hour. Part of the Women In Comedy Festival, read our full preview here.
One of the best-reviewed shows at this year’s Fringe, Edinburgh Best Newcomer nominee Helen Bauer brings her new show ‘Madam Good Tit’ to the Frog for a Sunday night of self-aware stand-up. A show about self-confidence, self-esteem and self-care, Bauer attacks the stage as a self-styled, self-help guru and you’d be daft not to take some of her excellent advice home for yourself. Though you may not be aware of the name Charlie George, you’ll almost certainly be aware of her words. Having written for the likes of 8 Out of 10 Cats, Hypothetical, Newsjack, The Now Show, Have I Got News For You, Joe Lycett’s Got Your Back, Frankie Boyle’s New World Order and a number of Charlie Brooker’s vehicles, she is one of the hottest comic talents in the country. Headlining Blizzard for the first time, this is a great chance to see a rising star in a lively yet intimate space for comedy at Gullivers.
