More great comedy shows in Manchester this week including Eddy Brimson at Trapdoor, The Laughięnda’s post birthday haze and Mike Newall’s latest show.

Eddy Brimson at Trapdoor Comedy | Wed 8 Sep | 7.30pm | £7

Trapdoor Comedy Club at The Old Monkey is a proper comedy club in a proper pub, and Eddy Brimson is a proper headliner. Eddy is an award winning comedian with over 20 years experience as a professional live performer who has performed comedy in clubs and at Festivals throughout the world, from Shanghai to Auckland, Edinburgh to Oslo, The French Alps to Yangon. There’s not much in the comedy world he hasn’t been through and lived to tell the hilarious tale. There’s only a handful of tickets left for this one so get moving if you want to bag yours!

The Laughięnda at Lions Den | Thu 9 Sep | 7.30pm | FREE

After celebrating their first birthday last week with a knock-down funny headline set from Manchester comedy legend Smug Roberts, the city’s finest free comedy night wanders into its sophomore year with another sprawling lineup of great acts from around the North West. Obviously the year has been interrupted by various lockdowns but getting to any milestone at the moment is to be applauded and The Laughięnda has already cemented itself as a must-see on the comedy scene.

Mike Newall: Definitely Mike Newall | Sun 12 Sep | 7pm | £12

After a star turn on Britain’s Got Talent where he wooed all four judges and even cracked a smile from Simon Cowell’s Rocky Dennis-esque face, who went on to describe Newall as “one of my favourite comics we’ve had on the show”. Those that have frequented the Manchester clubs over the last ten years of so won’t have needed the high waistline of Cowell to clue them in to this though. Newall has been splitting sides for years with pitch perfect jokes and a laid back style.
