A few absolute comedic treats this week from some of the best in the business, there’s no reason to not have a good laugh in Manchester this week.

Larry Dean: Work in progress | Tue 5 Nov | 7.30pm | £6/3

One of the UK’s finest comics Larry Dean is coming to XS Malarkey for a very special run out of his brand new show. Smart, funny and alarmingly physical Dean seems to keep getting better and this is a great chance to see his new show at a snip of the price in an intimate venue before it tours the big theatres next year.

Jayne Edwards is Top Bodybuilder Brian | Thu 7 Nov | 7.30pm | £7

Edwards has long been the darling of the alternative comedy scene in the city, none more so than when donning a sleeveless top and England cap to play her alter-ego ‘Top Bodybuilder Brian’. With this hour long show we delve further into the Brian mythos to discover a confused man who just wants a Wetherspoons breakfast, a can of Monster Energy and his wife back. This show will be filmed so bring your most boisterous laugh.

The Inaugural HOME Comedy Club | Fri 8 Nov | 8pm | £20

Usually a refuge for po-faced theatre and worthy productions, HOME has decided to dip its toe into the stand-up comedy world and with a lineup as stellar as this debut, it’ll be interesting to see what happens when they fully submerge. Headliner Shappi Khorsandi is joined by Suzi Ruffell, Larry Dean and Ahir Shah on a bill that you’ll struggle to beat anywhere across the country on a Friday night.
