This week’s sees a trio of great gigs in the city featuring ‘a BDSM viking overlord’, the North West’s favourite drag queen and a man with five nipples. Quite the selection.

XS Malarkey with John Robertson | Tue 17 Aug | 7.30pm | £3/6

If you missed John Robertson’s Dark Room at the Frog on Sunday, or you just fancy watching the ‘BDSM viking overlord’ doing some of his more traditional stand-up then you’re in luck. We say traditional, but those familiar with Robertson’s shows will know he’s anything but. An absolute powerhouse of libido based stand-up, Robertson is sure to shake up XS Malarkey this Tuesday night.

An Evening with Myra Dubois | Thu 19 Aug | 8.30pm | FREE

If you’re after even more sauce, Myra Dubois will be slathering it all over The Brewers on Canal Street this Thursday night. One of the jewels in the North West’s Drag Queen crown, Myra is a brassy Bette Lynch-esque broad who takes absolutely no guff with an acid tongue and peroxide locks. Somehow this show is free to enter, so you’ll get way more than your money’s worth.

Jonny Pelham at Cheadle Town Football Club | Sat 21 Aug | 8pm | £10

The man with 5 nipples himself Jonny Pelham headlines a spectacular lineup at Cheadle Football Club this Saturday night with support from loop pedal maestro Vince Atta and the unmatched compering skills of Jonathan Mayor. Pelham has appeared on Live at the Apollo, Live at the BBC and recently made a documentary for Channel 4. Already a favourite in the North West, Pelham should be a household name very shortly.
