Tour shows from Harriet Kemsley and Stuart McPherson, plus a top lineup of comedy in Didsbury to round out the week make for a great week of stand-up in the city.

Stuart McPherson at XS Malarkey | Tue 29 Nov | 7.30pm | £3/6

XS Malarkey is no stranger to moving venues as emphasised by its nomadic 20 year stay in the city, but this week they up sticks to pastures new for one night only due to some kind of football game. Rocking up at HOME for the night they welcome Scottish comic Stuart McPherson and his Edinburgh smash hit show ‘The Peesh’ which covers the rising star’s battle with alopecia. There’s no doubting McPherson’s future as a massive stand-up so make sure you see him now in the more unfamiliar surrounds of HOME. The football will no doubt be rubbish. You can bank on this show being great.

Harriet Kemsley: Honeysuckle Island | Thu 1 Dec | 7pm | £10/9

If you like your XS Malarkey to be in The Bread Shed or not at all, then good news! They’ll be back with a special tour show of Harriet Kemsley’s Honeysuckle Island this Thursday. Fed up with being told how to look and behave since she was a teenager, Kemsley is taking a long hard squint at the beauty industry through her two remaining false eye lashes. A phenomenal comic who has smashed out appearances on Hypothetical, Live at The Apollo, 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown and more, make sure you take in this terrific stand-up who refuses to comply and is all the funnier for it.

Andrew O'Neill at Didsbury Comedy Club | Sun 4 Dec | 7.45pm | £12

Self-described ‘psychedelic non-binary whirlwind’, Andrew O’Neill rocks up to St Catherine’s Community Centre in Didsbury to shake things up the suburbs. An absolute livewire of a performer, they will be joined by a stellar lineup including Matt Bragg, Ricky Balshaw and local legend Mick Ferry as MC. Not many better ways to close out the week.
