Justin Moorhouse and John Thompson have got their comedy pals together for a huge Ukraine charity fundraiser at the Apollo on Monday night in the pick of the week’s comedy offerings.

Easter Comedy Eggstravaganza for Ukraine | Mon 18 Apr | 6pm | £35-50

John Thompson and Justin Moorhouse have thumbed through their address books and cobbled together a stunningly funny lineup for this special Ukraine charity fundraiser. There will be turns from Jason Manford, Tez Ilyas, Tom Binns, Nina Gilligan, Les Dennis and loads more with all profits going to Legacy of War Foundation. Have a laugh and feel good about it.

XS Malarkey with Bethany Black | Tue 19 Apr | 7.30pm | £6/3

Hopefully you’re not too spent from a looooong Bank Holiday weekend because XS Malarkey is on Tuesday and it boasts a lineup to rival the one above. Perhaps not for star quality but certainly for talent. Pitch dark Bethany Black will be headining and there’s new stuff from the madcap mind of Tom Burgess creation ‘Peter Fleming’. Also on the bill is musical comedian Matty Hutson who is so talented he makes TikTok a bearable place to be!

Edinburgh Previews: Chris Cantrill & Erika Ehler | Sun 24 Apr | 5pm | £5

Close out your week with an early evening double bill of Edinburgh previews at Chapeltown Picture House courtesy of rising star Erika Ehler and a solo outing from The Delightful Sausage’s Chris Cantrill. Ehler won the Chortle Student Comedy Award in 2019 and has since written for shows like Late Night Mash, Death to 2020 and Never Mind the Buzzcocks whereas Cantrill followed up his nomination for the best comedy award at the 2019 Fringe with appearances in Alma’s Not Normal and various Sausagey appearances on Question Team and Late Night Mash. Very interested to see their respective solo shows ready for this year’s Edinburgh festival.
