The brains behind popular Manchester bars Crazy Pedro’s Pizza Parlour, cocktail experts The Liars Club and Bunny Jacksons’s Juke Joint are gearing up to open two new Northern Quarter venues this spring – with one featuring an open air, rooftop cinema.

These new venues – created by founder Lyndon Higginson – are set to open to open side by side on Oldham street in Northern Quarter, directly next door to The Castle Hotel. Lost Cats will be a neighbourhood bar featuring live music and a rooftop cinema which will be available as a city-centre sunbathing space during the warmer summer months. It’ll be taking over the space previously occupied by Eat New York’s bagel shop, with customers entering through new ground-floor florists The Bud and Pot. Once inside, the space will specialise in beers and crazy cocktails with live music upstairs and food provided by Triple B, the new New York-inspired burger and bagel brand spearheaded by the Eat New York team.

Next door, customers will find a basement dive bar where burgers will be served through a tube from the kitchen upstairs. The subterranean Junior Jacksons promises to feature a jukebox and a great selection of bourbon. It’ll also screen American sports and feature the same Triple B food selection available at sister site Lost Cats. The bar will also offer a private room that can be booked out for events complete with a fully-stocked beer fridge and a sofa behind the bar so you can get a bartender’s perspective of the fun. Both venues are set to open in May 2021 – if lockdown restrictions allow. Watch this space.
