This summer, the world-renowned Cheshire National Trust destination Lyme stages a wonderfully wide-ranging programme of interactive discovery, art-infused walks and immersive entertainment for intrepid visitors of all ages.
You can use rocks, ferns and other found materials to create prints and embossments on a gentle 2.5km trail walk along the river, explore miniature worlds while making graphite rubbings with trees and leaves on a twisting and turning 2.5km journey through the woods, draw shimmering water patterns on a short, mindful stroll and much more.

Every day throughout the season, Lyme hosts an array of hands-on activities that bring the stories of the park and house to life through family-friendly play.
Head into the magnificent manor and recreate Thomas Legh’s travels through Egypt with shadow puppets, wade through crocodile-infested waters and camp in the shadow of the Great Pyramids of Giza.
Out in the garden, the locations of Pride & Prejudice are reimagined as interactive landscapes. Visit one of Meryton’s shops on the West Terrace, try your hand at textile crafts at the outdoor weaving stations, test your agility along the obstacle course, perform your own stage spectacular or dance the day away at the Netherfield Ball on the top lawn.
At the Boiler House, you and the family can jam at the Riverlands Silent Ponds Disco before settling in with a book in the nature reading corner and playing a round of nature-themed board games.
On Thursdays, the Mill Pond invites visitors to make a splash and learn more about Lyme’s moorland through games and an array of activities.
