It’s New Year’s Eve, and if you’re looking to save a few pennies this year, you do well to check out this party at Sandinista. The Latin American themed bar is hosting a Battle of the Brewers, with guest ales from a range of craft brewers including local legends Shindigger, Cloudwater and Marble. There’s also the opportunity to get free swag and a free shot of tequila on arrival – as well as all the other music and festivities you’d expect from a great New Year’s bash.

Barking Tales at Zombie Shack | Thu 2 Jan | 8pm - 10.15pm

Monthly comedy and storytelling night Barking Tales host their first show of 2020 this Thursday evening. Regular host Harriet Dyer presents a roster of comedians to perform and for this instalment you’ve got Dublin comic Julie Jay. Julie is an accomplished comic, having been the tour support for the likes of Ardal O’Hanlon and Tommy Tiernan, and this is a rare opportunity to see her in a small club. Entry to the is free, but they’ll also be accepting donations on the night.
