Liverpool-based artist Jazz Stan – the nom de pinceau of mural painter Jessica Arrowsmith Stanley – comes to Manchester this Wednesday, to create a new outdoor mural at Ardwick Green coworking space Use.Space. Swing by in the afternoon and you’ll catch this work in progress as it takes shape. If you share the mural on Instagram, Use.Space are offering afree three-month membership (typically worth hundreds of pounds) to one lucky snapper
The People’s History Museum stays open late this Thursday for this event from Syrup Magazine exploring protest in all its forms, using spoken word, film screenings, installations and workshops. Highlights of the evening include a projection installation from designer Adam Griffiths and a workshop from Alsa Artwork and Jessica El Mal, who are contributors to this year’s Journeys Festival.
At Manchester Museum on Thursday, you can catch this fascinating demonstration from master calligrapher Haji Noor Deen. The artist will be demonstrating his work live, and discussing how his intricate inkwork interacts with and helps him to express his faith. There will also live music and traditional tea tasting on the night.
