Daytime Disco Takeover at Hatch | Fri 20 Sep | 12pm - 11pm

Modular Oxford Road events space Hatch is being taken over this Friday for an all-day disco party. It’s being staged courtesy of party planners Surco: A local outfit founded in 2016, who’ve organised events in locations as diverse as a bagel shop and a boat on the River Irwell. As well as a packed roster of local DJs, they’ll also be hosting a record stall from Do As You Please, as well as a vintage clothing sale and vendors peddling fresh street food.

On Sunday evening you can catch a free screening of a brand new film in a brand new venue. French film Shock of the Future is the debut film from musician and composer Marc Collin – of Nouvelle Vague fame – and will actually still be in cinemas when new Ducie Street warehouse-turned-socialspace Cultureplex hosts this screening. The film tells the story of a young woman breaking into the Paris music scene at the dawn of electronic music, and true to Collin’s background it’s packed with vintage synths and small details that will delight even the most obsessive muso.
