Head to Stockport Road’s Aunty Ji’s for their cracking spoken word open mic night. This is a chance to experience some stellar writing, great reading and wholesome chatting about all things words.
Geared around community, conversation and generally good vibes all over – this is definitely the place to be this Thursday.
Get yourself over to Band on the Wall to ease you into the weekend with their unique and versatile new jam night, Jam on the Wall, all about proving a nurturing environment for up-and-coming artists of all disciplines and backgrounds to experiment.
Have a listen to some of the city’s flourishing talent or even have a go at it yourself – this is sure to be a good one.
Over at Salford’s hub of all things community-orientated, the Partisan Collective within Islington Mill, is a short and sweet sensory-friendly gig experience for disabled people in Manchester.
Led by Scope’s Youth Community Collective, the event will showcase some fantastic acoustic performances from three artists with unplugged sets and regular breaks between artists.
There will also be a breakout space for audience members who wish to take a break from the main event.
Bring on the weekend over on Burton Road with a proper good karaoke night at The West Didsbury Club.
Dubbed the ‘Best Karaoke Night in Didsbury’, have a go at singing your heart out to all the well-known bangers from decades past and taste a slice of the city centre in the leafy suburbs.

Shake up the middle of the week over at Chorlton’s very own theatre and arts space, The Edge, to catch a viewing of local Mancunian artist, Fleur Yearsley’s latest exhibition.
Titled ‘Breathing is Free’, Fleur puts a fascinating spin on what may at first appear to be ordinary objects painted with directness and simplicity – transforming them into metaphors and devices to explore intimate relationships, emotional connections, and humanity through the materiality of paint.
