Now that the festivities and chaos of the bumper bank holiday weekend are a thing of the past, I’m sure many of us are eager to fill the week with activities that are a little kinder on the wallet.
Well, you’re in luck, as we’ve rounded up the best free things to do in and around Manchester this week featuring a huge outdoor party at the Progress Centre, a zine launch over at The Old Pint Pot and many more…
Check out Levenshulme’s Station South after work this Thursday for an exhibition featuring artwork from some of Manchester’s finest vinyl record labels.
You’ll be able to see some pretty gnarly record sleeves from Melodic Records, Sprechen, Before I Die, Semi Skimmed Edits, Small Press Studio and One69A, peruse pop-up record and merch shops and enjoy back-to-back live DJs.
We’ve been loving Ōdiobā, Stockport’s latest addition — described as ‘a coffee house by day and Audiophile Hi-Fi bar by evening’ — since it opened a few weeks back.
The latest event to hit the bar sees Manchester-based Almo take to the decks. Known for playing an eclectic mix of timeless electronic music, from downtempo and disco hidden gems to forgotten house classics – attendees can look forward to being taken on a musical journey packed with excitement and feeling.
Get yourself over to Salford this Saturday for the launch for PlOD’s first-ever zine, An Ode to Walking.
Attendees can check out some of the artwork and written work of PLOD’s featured artists while vibing out to a handful of DJs spinning all the best tunes throughout the night.
Also on Saturday, the Progress Centre will be hosting Disco Puss’ largest show to date.
Promising free tickets for the first 400 to arrive, plus LED Cat Ears for the first 200 through the door, this amazing light show based in one of Manchester’s best outdoor party venues is sure to keep you dancing way beyond the sun setting.
Featuring the likes of; FORBID, Hannah O’Gorman, Joey T., Metrodome, and Rich Reason TS b2b Bonsai (UK) b2b RMD – it’s looking like a good’un.
