The Whitworth will also be hosting a free film screening this week, White Cube, followed by an informative panel discussion.
Artist Renzo Martens has created an evocative piece on art, class and decolonisation as the story follows the journey of a plantation workers’ cooperative in the Congolese town of Lusanga and their collective attempt to overthrow the destructive system on their lands through the radical building of a gallery, the ‘white cube’ of the title.

Leslie Thompson’s newest exhibition My New Favourite Shop is a beautiful celebration of the joys of childhood trips to everyone’s favourite NQ hotspot, Affleck’s Palace.
For his exhibition and residency at PAPER Gallery, Leslie will recreate his favourite shop within the space, and will be selling zines and other pieces of work inspired by the exhibition.
Presented by Not Your Babe Manchester and hosted at the über cool Cheetham Hill joint, GRUB, is The Matriarch Market this Sunday.
