Kick off the weekend’s antics a day early at YES and celebrate the launch of Superstar Music with a stacked lineup of incredible artists from the North, including Akamwave, Hunnygloss, Princess Elf Bar, chlo333e, imyzuli, USNABOY and MalakiNow, who will be playing all the best in Electroclash, Electropop, Dubstep, Hyperpop, EDM and more!
A curious artwork that is only complete once gallery visitors walk across it is coming to Salford Museum & Art Gallery this weekend.
Salford artist Maisie Pritchard is inviting visitors to travel the tactile path, leaving behind footprints and other marks with her latest installation, Put Your Foot Down II.
A temporary pathway constructed from dozens of blocks of florists’ foam, commonly known as oasis, the installation forms part of Recoverist Month programme of exhibitions, performances and creative events.
Salford City Council and From The Other have announced Make Tracks, a free family-friendly day of music, art and activity taking place on Chapel Street at Sacred Trinity Church, New Bailey and The Anglesey this Saturday.
The event will celebrate the completion of the Chapel Street East and New Bailey scheme, which has transformed the area into a more accessible and connected neighbourhood.
From 1pm – 5pm, Chapel Street will come alive with pop-up performances from Manchester School of Samba, the Flat Iron Choir and Dhol drummers, alongside workshops, activities and plenty of opportunities to get moving.
The celebrations will continue at The Anglesey from 5.30pm – 8pm, with free live acoustic sets from local artists Chia Kali, Holly Redford Jones and Romy Taylor.
Cuesta is taking over the courtyard and pub at The Rose & Monkey Hotel for an evening built on good music, food off the grill and some go-to pub rituals.
Expect a pub quiz, backyard BBQ on the go, 12″ pizzas as cheap as a fiver and local selectors spinning until late into the night.
