With just three weeks away now until Christmas, there are heaps of things to do around Manchester that won’t break the bank.
From zine-making workshops over at the Manchester Poetry Library to all-night grooving affairs at one of the best sound systems in the whole city – here’s our rundown of the best free things to do in Manchester this week…
Swing by Northern Quarter’s hub of ping-pong, Twenty Twenty Two, this Tuesday for an exciting work-in-progress exhibition by students studying Fashion Art Direction at Manchester Fashion Institute.
Check out some of the experimental work rooted in the idea of storytelling and find out a little more about the many layers of narrative within fashion image.
Try your hand at some arts and crafts this Thursday and swing by the fantastic Manchester Poetry Library for a wholesome zine-making workshop.
The event will also feature an interesting panel discussion with contributions from LGBTQIA+ students from Manchester Met as well as staff who worked as co-researchers in the series with a focus on how to translate the findings into practice.
A great chance to check out the library, network with the local creative community and create your very own zine!
Add a bit of boogie to your Friday night down at The Blues Kitchen where the incredible Untold Band will be performing all the old and new school hip hop, afrobeats and RnB goodness.
Whether that’s modern bangers from the likes of Kendrick Lamar and J Hus to WizKid and Lauryn Hill, be sure to put on your dancing shoes as this is certain to get your blood pumping.
Get yourself over to the audiophile’s paradise, NAM, this Saturday night for a full-evening affair of Sheffield-based DJ, Sirrey, up on the decks.
Sirrey, a lover of all things warm and grooving on a dance floor, will be bringing the best soulful sides of house and disco alongside jazz dance and funk from all corners of the globe to this lovely little Ancoats basement.
