As we draw closer and closer to August with the summer holidays just around the corner, I’m sure we’re all wanting to save our dosh – so we’ve rounded up five of the best things to do in the city to help you out.
From Sunday market garden antics to mid-week Italo take-overs – here’s our rundown of the best free things to do in Manchester this week…
If you’re after a mid-week motive, head to Ramona on Wednesday to see É Soul Cultura’s ‘Boy Wonder’ take to the decks fresh from his debut set at Pikes in Ibiza.
Joey T will be spinning all the best downtempo Soul, Boogie and Electronic expansions up to shoulder-shaking mutant Disco, Italo and percussive outer-space House to really get you in the groove.
Check out The DBA on Thursday where you can catch Grooveflow Unlimited who’ll be presenting an evening blasting the best House, Electro, Trance and Breaks.
The likes of Incupa97, Nickon Faith, shooobs, Bon Vélo, Jumbled, Phonno and Kalani will be taking to the decks so head over and start the weekend festivities a little earlier this week.
Swing by Feel Good Club this Saturday for Manchester Vegan Club’s Makers Market where you can browse a whole bunch of plant-based goodies.
The market will be showcasing lots of different makers selling everything from baked goods to tarot readings while local DJs soundtrack the evening which will see 100% of proceeds donated to a fundraiser evacuating a Gazan family.
End the week right down at Fallowfield’s buzzing Platt Fields Market Garden for a healthy dose of all things wholesome.
Peruse the local arts, crafts and handmade homewares made by the people of the city and, if you’re feeling peckish, there’s always coffee and food available from MUD Kitchen to keep you going.

Kick off the week with a bang at Northern Quarter’s gem of a jazz bar, Matt and Phreds, for the monthly All Star Jam which sees the house band, Dreamer, take to the stage and invite musicians to join them in filling the venue with the very best Funk, Soul, and Disco from across the decades.
Whether you sit back and enjoy the live tunes or rock up with an instrument and take to the stage yourself – this sure is shaping up to be a good one.
