We’re just a few weeks away from Christmas now and I’m sure all of our wallets are feeling it.
So, to help you out in the cashola department, we’ve rounded up a handful of cracking things to do in the city that won’t cost you a thing.
From afternoon piano sessions at Band on the Wall to gothic markets in Stockport – here’s our rundown of the five best free things to do in Manchester this week…
Head to Stockport’s Rare Mags this Friday for the launch party of Issue 2 of CWYR, an independent zine showcasing the work of LGBTQ+ creatives.
Issue 2 is packed full of poetry, essays, creative writing, and visual art all about the experience of fulfilment.
If you’re wanting a wholesome Saturday afternoon this week, swing by Band on the Wall to enjoy a spot of live piano.
Chill out in The Copper Bar with a cocktail or a coffee while local musician, multi-instrumentalist Sam Roberts, plays an array of classic standards and contemporary covers – as well as some feel-good Christmas tunes.
Factory International is hosting a fabulous cabaret evening on Saturday night featuring magician Adam B, juggler Louise and the incredible dancer Miss Lolly May.
The legendary line-up happens to share one thing in common: they are all disabled and/or neurodivergent with Beyond Boundaries Cabaret recognising the fact disabled artists are often pigeonholed while creating a space for acts that are not specifically about disability.
If you’re fancying something a little more alternative than the Christmas markets in town, check out Stockport’s Gothmas markets all about combining the spirit of the festive season with lots of gothic charm.
With over 60 wonderful stalls to peruse, a bar, food and even a spooky grotto – this is a great way to end the week with a slightly different family day out.
