The Immersive Arcade | HOST Salford | Thurs 16 Sept | Various Times

Head to the Unity Centre of Excellence at HOST to enjoy a full hour of a totally immersive experience like no other. This one-of-a-kind exhibition is the first national collection of the best examples of virtual reality (VR) and 360 experiences created in the UK between 2000 and 2020. Themed around an exploration of the human mind, the collection allows users to investigate a wide range of impactful VR experiences and aims to engage those who are new to immersive productions. Those who visit the in-person showcase during this national tour will emerge into a wide range of experiences in the documentary, experiential and narrative genres.

Now Then returns for a free party across the three floors of The Deaf Institute with some of Manchester’s finest performers. With Chicken Shop, 90s DNB & Jungle in Room 1, Skiptrace and a journey through House in Room 2 and Lucid Juice with Bassline & UK Garage in Room 3 – this event has something for everyone. Indulge in some British music nostalgia and enjoy a full night of retro fun!

Fallowfield Loop Family Bike | Station South | Sun 19 Sept | 1 pm - 4 pm

Join Station South rides for a child-friendly, social and off-road ride from Station Green towards Highfield Country Park and Lower Gorton Reservoir. With games, merriment, prizes and music along the way and with Station South’s experienced ride leaders – this event is bound to be great for the whole family! With an option to either return back to Levenshulme or stay in the park for a picnic post-cycle, this is a great way to keep active, get outdoors and hang out all together as a family. Book fast as the rides are offered on a first-come basis!

Coming to Chorlton Arts Festival is local poet, spoken word artist, youth worker, author and blogger, Kofi Gyamfi. With words published in Afropunk and past experience facilitating a youth group project at Manchester International Festival, this performer is definitely a jack of many great trades. Kofi’s poetry is often deeply thought-provoking and insightful with a very cool and sarcastic tone running throughout his pieces. Check out the Chorlton Arts Festival programme for more details!

Plus Minus Equals: Expo 01 | Un.titled Studio | Sat 18 Sept | 7 pm - late

The official launch party for PLUSMINUSEQUALS will host an immersive evening of live performances, the first official screening of content and networking opportunities for other like-minded creatives. Get ready for a night dedicated to showcasing some great independent work. With live sessions premiered by a film screening, documentaries and other shorts produced for the project – this event’s ethos on creativity, originality and community is definitely one to be supported. With the appearances of Jazzie Martian, Francesca Forbes and many, many more, why not explore something new whilst supporting the local talent of the city?
