Local ethnic clothing brand Electric Bazaar has teamed up with The Whitworth art gallery to showcase the label’s new collection of apparel. During this free event you’ll be able to get a glimpse of the brand’s latest designs as they’re debuted down the catwalk, each of which boast an eclectic mixture of traditional and contemporary looks. They’ll be an opportunity to buy exclusive limited edition items and browse the venue’s pop-up mini Bazaar which will feature maker stalls and the chance to try your hand at embroidery during a workshop.
Form Lifestyle celebrate their second anniversary in their cosy Northern Quarter base with a mini-birthday shindig later this week. From 6pm, attendees will be able to enjoy a complimentary drink while they take part in a drop-in Terrazzo Coaster making workshop (no booking required, just show up) courtesy of thrifty workshop leader Katie Gillies. Opening hours will be extended to 9pm, allowing you plenty of time to join in the fun.
Northern Quarter jazz favourites Matt and Phreds round-out their month-long residency at Salford’s Middlewood Locks with one more must-see event. Their final outdoor music-food-mash-up promises a set from the Cuba Vida Salsa Band, tipple provided by the wonderful folks at Seven Brothers Brewery and canal-side views of the city from this quickly developing spot. Tickets are free – with the first 100 confirmed attendees for this final session rewarded with free street food – but you’ll have to act fast if you want that free grub.
