Free things to do in Manchester this week FT Working Class Movement Library, The Whitworth and more

Swing by The Whitworth on Oxford Road this Thursday for a local artist print launch. Check out the incredible collection gathered from ten selected artists and the lovely lot behind Venture Arts.

If you’re looking for something a little different to shake up the working week, head down, support the local art scene, have a drink and a browse.

Kick off your weekend with a full-evening affair at The Blues Kitchen soundtracked by all the best hip hop, afrobeats and RnB classics.

Attendees can expect old and new-school goodness from legends in their respective genres including the likes of Kendrick Lamar and J Hus all the way to Wizkid and Lauryn Hill.

The Working Class Movement Library is putting on a series of fantastic workshops geared around creating a peer support group for family, friends, colleagues and other community members who are supporting people who hear, see or sense things that others don’t.

Intended to be a mutually supportive space where people feel safe to ask questions and offer support to one another to create a strong supporter community, the workshop is all about sharing experiences and questions together as a group.

If you’ve not got your Saturday plans sorted yet then look no further than Band on the Wall, which will be hosting a cracking Open Deck daytime event.

Venture down to the Pop Up Gallery taking place at the Fairfield Social Club to bring your week to a nice and easy end.

Take a peruse at all the incredible offerings amongst the amazing and creative stalls – one of which includes Manchester-based jeweller, Areesha, selling rings from her debut ‘CORE COLLECTION’ alongside other established and emerging creatives.
