As part of the South Asian Film Club collection, Manchester Museum is hosting a brilliant screening of The Warrior Queen of Jhansi which tells the true story of the 1857 Indian Rebellion against the British East India Company.
With a focus on telling the stories of strong female rulers in South Asian history, the film club is sure to showcase different narratives and show you parts of South Asia that you may not have seen before.
Calling anyone aged between 18-30 and looking to meet with other young creatives – head to YES this Wednesday for a exciting event designed to connect like-minded individuals starting out in the music scene.
The event will include a panel talk from BBC Radio 1xtra producer Jasmine Rowland, Manchester-based music producer, vocalist, performer and artist, Is33n and Martha Bolton, marketing guru for Defected Records and Glitterbox Ibiza alongside some banging live performances by talented local artists; B!tez, Hot Minute, Meduulla, and Superlative., as well as a DJ set from PERiiSU.
Stroll down to Spinningfields this Thursday for a short and sweet evening of vino and vinyl at Provence. All about the tunes, and the perfect tipple to pair, the weekly event showcases different DJs and wines each week so expect good vibes, incredible wine and plenty of grooving.
Whether you go along to simply bask in the atmosphere or fancy splashing out a fiver on the house’s pick of the night – this sure is shaping up to be a good one.
Swing by Stockport this weekend for a wholesome Saturday morning of perusing, wandering and soaking in the vistas of the amazing Victorian Market Hall home to more than 30 independent businesses.
