Alice's Adventures in Wonderland | Ongoing

London-based theatre troupe Chickenshed kick start the week with an early Christmas present. On Monday 21 December at 7pm, they’ll premiere their vibrant take on Lewis Carroll’s iconic children’s tale Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland via You Tube. The stream – which chronicles the lost Alice’s encounters with characters like the Mad Hatter, the Queen of Hearts and the Cheshire Cat – will remain available to view indefinitely, so you can tune in at a time that suits you over the festive period.

The Hallé Christmas Concert | Ongoing

The Hallé’s free Christmas concert is available to view on YouTube now, and makes for perfect festive viewing. Filmed in The Bridgewater Hall, it contains contributions from the entire Hallé Orchestra, along with special guests like Lemn Sissay (reading his poem Let There Be Peace) and singer-songwriter Guy Garvey. You’re sure to hear all your festive favourites, so don’t forget to make some time to sit down, relax and enjoy an incredible Christmas music experience from home.

Amani Go Digital showcases | Various dates

Amani Creatives, an African-led arts and culture organisation based in Manchester, have six amazing online arts showcases and workshops coming up this winter from North West-based creatives working in the African arts. There are currently four showcases available on the Amani Creatives YouTube channel, including two spoken word performances from Blue Saint and a visual arts piece by painter Christian Asare. Online Lunchtime Meditation | Mon 21 & Wed 23 Dec | 12.30pm - 12.45pm

There’s no denying that this is a hectic time of year, and 2020 has certainly added a new element of stress to Christmas preparations. Take some time out this week with some lunchtime meditation from the Meditation and Personal Development Centre. It takes just 20 minutes, and the guided sessions are perfect for those new to meditation. They’re taking place on Monday and Wednesday this week and could be just what you need to take a step back and unwind so you can truly enjoy whatever your holiday plans are this year.

Sustainable Gift Wrapping with Mahima Jethani | Mon 21 Dec | 2pm

Sustainable, student-led thrift shop The Closet are here for all your last-minute present-wrapping needs. Mahima Jethani will show you how to wrap presents creatively using household items – better for the environment and pretty cool looking, too. Simply sign up via their Google form and you’ll get a Zoom link to tune in to. If you’re running out of time to get those presents wrapped, then this is the event for you.
