Manchester 4-piece Pleasures head to Night & Day. Bringing their skater punk/new wave sound to the Northern Quarter, expect it to be loud and definitely lively. They are joined by Blackpool’s own Those Fucking Snowflakes – who describe themselves as ‘Fisher Price Punk Rock with Maths’. Also on the bill are Manc band Burnout – combining hardcore punk and indie elements. Pay on the door for this punk-packed night.
Head to Aatma for a ‘dream line-up’ this Thursday evening. Manc-based Faux Pas, renowned for their electric live performances, headline the Northern Quarter venue. A blend of grunge, punk and indie – most recent single That’s My Ego gave us real Placebo vibes. They are joined by ‘loud, proud and full of psychy sounds’ Yorkshire-based Brooders and atmospheric-grunge three-piece Bloodhound. Get on this for only a fiver!
American indie-folk duo Shovels & Rope head to Gorilla on Friday. The married singer/songwriters, based in South Carolina, take inspiration from the likes of Elvis Costello, Bob Dylan and Woody Guthrie alongside the stirring harmonies of Johnny Cash and June Carter. They’ll be playing tracks from their impressive back-catalogue, including the 2019 album By Blood.
Headlining The Castle on Friday are Juliper Sky. Taking elements of dream-pop, indie, shoe-gaze and psychedelia – the Manchester-based band are quickly making a name for themselves both on stage and through significant radio play. The lads are joined by Nikki & The Waves and Hazel’s Maze as supports.
Animal House are touring their debut album Premium Mediocre with a headline gig at Gullivers. Made up of 3 Aussies and 2 Brits – the garage rock band celebrate all that is average. If you like your music catchy and uncomplicated – this gig’s for you. Support comes from Toronto’s Kiwi Jr.
