Summer is finally upon us, and given what the last few have looked like, to say we’re ready would be a colossal understatement.

And what would the warmer months be without a packed calendar of live musical performances? To help get you moving and shaking, we’ve picked out a handful of shows coming to the recently revamped and iconic Band on the Wall throughout the next month.

Ravyn Lenae | Tue 14 Jun

Dubbed by many as the future of US R&B, Ravyn Lenae’s jaw-dropping vocals have seen her go from strength to serious strength since her emergence in 2015. Fresh from the release of her acclaimed debut record Hypnos, don’t miss the chance to catch someone destined for huge things on the global stage.

Les Amazones d'Afrique | Thu 23 Jun

A creative force that unites international voices that summon the rights of women and girls, and a meltdown of heritage and new-gen talent. Originally formed in Mali in 2014 by three renowned musicians and activists—Mamani Keïta, Oumou Sangaré and Mariam Doumbia—the collective has since expanded to involve female artists from across Africa and the diaspora.

Along with campaigning for gender equality and eradicating ancestral violence, the collective powerfully blend pan-African sounds and collaborative harmonies with gritty, contemporary pop and the Congotronix-style production of iconic producer Doctor L.

Suzanne Ciani in Quadraphonic Sound | Fri 24 Jun

Five-time Grammy Award-nominated composer and electronic music pioneer, Suzanne Ciani, is likely responsible for some of your most memorable adverts and soundtracks. Through a career that has spanned over four decades, she’s released 16 solo albums, provided the voice and sounds for Bally’s groundbreaking “Xenon” pinball machine, created Coca-Cola’s pop-and-pour sound, designed Atari’s sound logo, played concerts all over the globe, and carved out a niche as one of the most creatively successful composers in the world.

Azymuth + special guests | Sun 26 Jun

The legendary Brazilian jazz-funk trio of Azymuth make their hotly anticipated return to Band on the Wall.

Dubbed Brazil’s most successful band and credited with creating their own unique genre, ‘samba doido’ (crazy samba), a blend of jazz funk and samba, Azymuth have recorded a staggering 30 albums in their five-decade career.

An Azymuth live show is a journey through the full spectrum of their brilliantly coloured expressionist funk, with all the cosmic energy and masterful musicianship you’d expect from the world’s greatest three-man orchestra.
