This summer, Jodrell Bank hosts another action-packed programme of space-faring family-friendly excitement for families with cosmic kids of all ages, from astronaut lectures and thrilling Dome Shows to hands-on workshops and special exhibitions.
Running on selected dates throughout the summer holidays, the interactive Space Dome Show Ted’s Space Adventure transports intrepid young cosmonauts on an enchanting voyage across the stars, led by furry spacefaring adventurer Ted and his faithful sidekick, Plant. Perfect for ages 3-7, this spellbinding show delves into the endless wonders of the universe and how the things we find throughout the cosmos affect us in different ways.

Join the Royal Society this August for their weekend-long Summer Science Exhibition, a fun-filled programme of interactive activities, engaging talks and mesmerising short films all dedicated to the boundless magic of science, including clean energy innovations, projects that track changes in native plant life and much more.
There’s also a schedule of talks and short films from the Royal Society, including the insightful Women in STEM series.
From minuscule atoms to gargantuan galaxies, there’s something to ignite cosmic curiosity in guests of all ages across both days of extraterrestrial excitement.
In celebration of Jodrell Bank’s 80th anniversary, you’re invited to contribute to their community art project with a 23cm x 23cm textile square inspired by the cosmos, which will be added to a special commemorative quilt for permanent display.
Developed in partnership with textile artist Anne Kelly, the project encourages contributors to explore and share their personal connection to the awe-inspiring mysteries of the universe, drawing on four conceptual prompts for inspiration: Waves of Discovery, The Cosmic Connection, Wonder and Curiosity, and Signal from the Stars.

Spend the school break in space with Jodrell Bank’s all-ages holiday programme.
Budding rocket scientists can get hands-on with stomp- and air-powered projectiles in the Rocket Lab and witness a spectacular ‘whoosh-bottle’ demonstration (free with ticket).
Elsewhere, visitors are able to explore the iconic Lovell Telescope up close with regular talks uncovering its mechanics and mysteries, alongside a variety of creative space-themed crafts, special dome screenings and even science busking sessions.
