One of the lynchpins of Brazilian music for the past four decades, singer songwriter Marcos Valle will be live-ish on Band on the Wall’s YouTube page from 7.30pm on Friday 17 April. Billed ‘as-live’, this performance was selected from venue’s archive and can be enjoyed for free – however donations are welcome to help support this iconic Manchester space during these difficult times.
After the success of the weekly Live Stream Saturdays, Visit Saddleworth have added another local artist to join Jake Fletcher on the bill. Mancunian singer/songwriter Josh Goddard presents Soul Sundays starting this Sunday 19 April at 8pm – playing a selection of 60s soul numbers on his acoustic. The lads from You Me At Six jump on the live stream wagon this week with daily takeovers via the band’s Instagram page @youmeatsixofficial. Each evening one or more of the band will go live to interact with fans. Expect plenty of chat and maybe a few tunes thrown in too.
This week Ticketmaster UK hosts a series of livestreams ‘At Home with…’ with a variety of performers. Featuring Murph of The Wombats/Love Fame Tragedy, poet and singer Arlo Parks and comedian Paul Chowdhry – head to the Ticketmaster UK Facebook page at 6pm each day to catch these performances. Northern Quarter jazz venue Matt & Phreds are keeping the party going during lockdown with a selection of online gigs. You can tune into these live performaces everyday over on their Facebook page. Running through until Sunday, this week’s lineup features sets from a variety of artists including pianist and member of ‘Enki Quartet’ Sam Davies, the young yet soulful Paul Silve and jazz and blues performer Jeremy Sasson, who is raising money for the NHS.
