Manchester’s Scruff Of The Neck have teamed with streaming platform Twitch to bring us loads of live music in the last two weeks of January. The first launch show will be this Tuesday 19 January at 7:30pm and these next few days will include 10 live shows from guest artists filmed exclusively in the SOTN offices/broadcasting studio. Presented by Abbie McCarthy – this new channel aims to give us all the gig experience we’ve been missing these past months. Excited to see what the future holds for this new venture from Scruff? Bristol’s alt-folk The Longest Johns present a full-band live stream this Wednesday 20 January. Following on from the release of their third studio album last summer, the group bring us a set of folk favourites, sea shanties and original songs. Available to view from 7:30pm over on Youtube, there’s also the chance to request a song and make a donation if you’re able.

Manchester trumpeter Matthew Halsall performs his album Salute To The Sun in full from the beautiful Hallé St Peters church in the city this Thursday 21 January. The concert film, shot in black and white, will be available to view by purchasing a virtual ticket priced at £5 with all profits going to mental health charity Mind. The Hives – The World's First World Wide Web Tour: London | Fri 22 Jan | 8pm | via Virtual Ticket ($15 +b.f)

Known for their chaotic and energetic live shows, Swedish garage rock band The Hives present The World’s First World Wide Web Tour. Kicking off in Berlin on Thursday, the band will play live virtually across the world with dates in London, New York, Sydney, Sao Paulo and finishing off with a hometown gig in Stockholm at the end of the month. Catch their UK London date this Friday 22 January from 8pm by purchasing a virtual ticket priced at $15 (plus booking fee).
