With October fading fast we’re already looking ahead to November and beyond so you’re nicely prepared for the bleak midwinter.
Resident Advisor are celebrating 21 years at the forefront of electronic music with three events in one weekend across Manchester – and two more in New York for good measure. It starts on Friday with an evening of workshops and talks featuring Mala and 808 State, followed by a techno and gqom party that night. The Saturday sees the Loft host a day of pioneering house and techno, including an exciting b2b between Danielle and Ryan Elliot.
Almo’s last party at NAM with Talking Drums was a novel, euphoric night of balearica which saw NAM’s audiophile basement at its sweatiest. This time they’ll be going ’til 2am alongside Linnkü so expect NAM’s stellar new (vintage) soundsystem to be put through its paces. Entry is free but there are limited spaces so get down early to guarantee a spot.
Ross From Friends’ second album on Flying Lotus’ Brainfeeder label was another tour de force, making his live shows and DJ sets an increasingly special event. This return to Hidden sees him DJing alongside aalice, who’s resident for Manchester’s biggest techno advocates, Meat Free.
WHP have announced their New Year’s Eve celebrations, which see Kaluki also bring in their 17th birthday on the 30th, with Joseph Capriati doing a 6-hour set. The 31st features WHP favourites Annie Mac and DJ EZ alongside chart toppers LF SYSTEM, Eliza Rose and Interplanetary Criminal. The latter recently released a collab with Dusky on their new album, who are topping the bill at the Archive.

Levi Love returns to Soup, this time hosting Vive La Musique label head, Aroop Roy for a night of sunshine-filled eclectic sounds. An impromptu 4-hour b2b with Mr Scruff to close out We Out Here Festival has meant that Aroop’s productions are becoming a more and more common sight on tracklists across the board. Highly recommended!
