Here’s our latest rundown of the best club nights and parties happening in and around Manchester, including Amber’s first birthday and a brand-new festival from The White Hotel.

1st Birthday | Amber’s | Sat 6 Dec | £17.10

It feels like only yesterday Amber’s opened, but also like it’s been here all along. Get down to Circle Square this Saturday and celebrate 1 year of unannounced lineups, which tend to pack a mean punch. No doubt, this will be no different, with the promise of their biggest bill yet.

Luuk Van Dijk | NOWHERE | Sat 6 Dec 3pm-11pm | £31.40

This Dutch DJ, producer and label owner is lauded for his upbeat sets of bouncy tech-house. This Saturday, he brings his party, Get Closer, to the NOWHERE warehouse for an all-day-long session. If his Loft parties are anything to go by, this’ll be a lively affair.

Open to Close: James Holroyd & Rhod Parry | Ramona | Fri 12 Dec | Free

Certified veteran James Holroyd teams up with comparatively fresh blood Rhod Parry for a Christmassy all-night long b2b at Parry’s Open to Close series. Holroyd was a founder of legendary party, Bugged Out and was most certainly there in the 90s.

Sunday Club: Eclair Fifi + residents | The White Hotel | Sun 28 Dec | £10

If there’s ever a Sunday to go out, Sun 28 Dec is it. NTS resident Eclair Fifi is no stranger to the White Hotel and joins Hanz, DJ Bottom and the usual Sunday Club suspects Finn, BFTT and Esqueezy. What else are you gonna do, watch last year’s Hootenanny?

Dickinson Street, M3 7LW
The Black Lights | Blackpool | Fri 26 Jun -Sat 28 Jun | £150

This new festival from the team behind the White Hotel is probably the best thing to happen to Blackpool since the first ever illuminations in 1879. Leftfield DJs and live acts from across the board will rage across various venues for 3 days  – from DJ Flight x Kode 9 to Space Afrika, and even the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, who’ll be appearing with Mica Levi. Poulton-Le-Flyde’s Brass Band are another honourable mention.
