Rhythm Section: Bradley Zero, Jerry | Soup | Sat 13 May | £10

Bastion of UK dance music, Rhythm Section, returns to Soup with label boss Bradley Zero and resident DJ, Jerry. They’re heading to Manny straight from Leeds where they’re spinning at high fidelity Cosmic Slop on Friday, in fact with Slop founder, Cosmic Tom in tow. Expect a ton of jazz-infused sounds from all corners of dance music.

Plastician (garage set), Moll, Hanz | Hidden | Fri 19 May | £11.50

With the garage revival still at fever pitch, specialist sets from veterans like Plastician were inevitable. Having led the genre through its early days into the dubstep era and beyond, Plastician couldn’t be better placed to put garage through its paces. He’s joined by Strange Riddims’ Hanz and Vandelay Radio resident, Moll.

Poly-Ritmo | NAM | Sat 20 May | £3

Making her Manchester debut is Poly-Ritmo, who’ll be running her extensive collection of global and jazz sounds through the gorgeous NAM audiophile sound system. Spinning for 6 hours from 8 ’til 2 on late license, Poly-Ritmo is sure to bring plenty of percussive sounds too, as the NAM basement can get pretty sweaty. One to kick off the summer.

The Little Disco: Mafalda + Friends | Gorilla | Fri 26 May | £9.20

La Discothèque’s spin-off night, The Little Disco returns to Gorilla after their opening party with Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy, this time inviting Melodies International boss Mafalda. She’s curating a lineup of selectors, starting with local legend, Irfan Rainy with more TBA. First release tickets are less than a tenner, don’t sleep.

Azymuth + Luke Una | The Blues Kitchen | Thurs 15 June | £18

Following the tragic passing of their drummer, Ivan Conti in April, Azymuth have decided to continue their European tour, as a way of celebrating Ivan and the memory of his incredible impact on music. Regarded as one of the best drummers of all time, Conti was the driving force in Azymuth’s 50-year career. Support comes from Luke Una.
