This collab between So Flute and Whalley Range Institution, the Carlton Club is a 12 hour shindig on an outdoor stage in the day – with 5 different cuisines doing BBQ to keep you going – before it heads inside for a knees-up with NTS resident Alexander Nut and Ellen Beth Abdi, hot off the back of her debut album. MC Kwasi will be overseeing proceedings on the ones and twos.

Marcellus Pittman, Josey Rebelle, Mother | The White Hotel | Sat 16 Aug | £18

The 3 Chairs quartet called it a wrap in Detroit after 40 years of spinning together recently, but we’re sure Marcellus ain’t done yet – he might just be at the peak of his powers as a house, disco and techno selector. He joins perhaps one of the UK’s most Detroit-minded techno DJs, Josey Rebelle, known for her expansively sets of trippy, rolling goodness. Support from Mother.

Dickinson Street, M3 7LW
Toy Tonics Jam: Laurence Guy | The Blues Kitchen | Sun 24 Aug | £10

Berlin label Toy Tonics have gone from strength to strength in recent years, taking on a residency at none other than Berghain’s Panorama Bar, as well as keeping up their highly active imprint, which seems to get more and more classy with every release. They invite two regulars in the shape of GUINNY and Arpy Brown to Blues Kitchen to join Laurence Guy, a DJ and producer known for his broad expressions of house and electronica.
