Alexandra Haddow brings her new show to Cultplex, Rob Auton is at The Lowry with more whimsical musings and The Frog hosts another Roast Battle.

Roast Battle League at The Frog & Bucket | Wed 12 Mar | 8pm | £10

Manchester’s biggest smack-talk event is back as comedians are paired and then eviscerate each other with as many bon mots as they can muster about the outward appearance or darkest secrets of their opponents. This month’s instalment features James Allen vs Jordan Ducharme, Natalia Schwartz vs Paul Sheehan and Liam Alexander vs Armin Goetze. A must for fans of pitch black humour and watching a person’s soul leave their body when their chops are truly busted.

Alexandra Haddow at Cultplex | Fri 14 Mar | 7pm | £14

Comedian Alexandra Haddow is, like many of us, looking for a third option. After over a decade of demonstrably awful Conservative rule and a “new” Labour one headed by human focus group Kier Starmer, she’s left searching for something else. After sell-out runs at Edinburgh in 2023 and 2024, Haddow is finally taking her erudite political wit on tour for the first time and arrives in Manchester on Friday night in desperate need of a third party.

Rob Auton: The Eyes Open and Shut Show | Sun 16 Mar | 8pm | £22

This show will be Rob Auton’s 11th and after playfully tearing apart things like the colour yellow (The Yellow Show), hair (The Hair Show) and even sleep (The Sleep Show), Rob turns his gaze upon the human eye. Rob Auton is a joy, and his comedy is thoughtful and soul-bendingly hilarious. We recommend him every time he comes to town and we’ll keep doing so until one of us ceases. The world is a brighter place with a new Rob Auton show on the horizon.
