Dan Tiernan brings his critically-acclaimed show to town, Sasha Dolgopolov is over from Russia, and Lowry launches a new scratch night.

Sasha Dolgopolov at Creatures | Tue 17 Mar | 6.45pm | £20

Russian queer alternative political comic Sasha Dolgopolov plays her first Manchester gig this Tuesday. Sasha emigrated when the war with Ukraine began and has since made a career across Europe and indeed online with their provocative take on their motherland’s actions. A rare treat.

Scratch Comedy at The Lowry | Thu 19 Mar | 7pm | £7

Folks head to Lowry every week to see the biggest names in comedy. Just this week alone, there are huge shows from Ray Bradshaw (sold out) and Jess Fostekew (still a few left, go go go!), but we’ve plumped for a new scratch night of comedy on Thursday from the future stars that hope to be heading to the bigger stages within Lowry’s illustrious space. Curated by Edy Hurst and Aarian Mehrabani, there will be 10 comedians creating fresh experiments before your very eyes. Take a chance on the next big things.

Dan Tiernan at Fairfield Social Club | Sun 22 Mar | 7pm | £15

Dan Tiernan’s third show is his best yet and was rewarded with a nod for Best Show at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe. Brimming with malevolent energy and unspeakably hilarious stories of Dan’s trouble with drugs, his mental health and life itself, All In is that rare thing of a feel-good show around the darkest of subject matter. Tiernan is in the form of his life, and long may it continue.
