Ed Gamble kicks off the latest run of Laughterama, Olga Koch is in tour with new tour show and Peter Fleming presents a TV quiz.
Russian-born, Britain-based, American-sounding Olga Koch delves deep into the reasons behind this country-hopping past with her latest show, Comes From Money. Wringing the personal from her privileged but deeply troubled upbringing, Olga Koch presents her best hour yet, which was nominated for Most Outstanding Show at Melbourne Comedy Festival earlier this year. One of the smartest comics around, this show tests her verbal dexterity as it takes in her familial past and the makings of who she is as a person, as well as a stand-up.
XS Malarkey’s regular Tuesday night gig is sold out already (not surprising with a headline spot from James Acaster!) so they’re putting on some bonus XS with Peter Fleming and a TV Pub Quiz on Sunday night. It’s a “Dismally Ill-Prepared TV Pub Quiz” to give it its full title, and we’d expect little else from character comic Tom Burgess’ inspired creation that pokes fun at the ramshackle nature of the beeb in the 50s/60s/70s. Expect a gentle and hilarious quiz from a brilliant but doddering host.
