Sophie Duker and Kemah Bob bring a cracking double preview to XS Malarkey, Rob Auton is at The Lowry, and there’s A Lovely Weekend to be had at Fairfield Social Club.

Sophie Duker and Kemah Bob at XS Malarkey | Tue 4 Jun | 7.30pm | £3/6

XS Malarkey’s sensational Edinburgh Fringe preview season kicked off last week, but the jewel in the crown comes tonight as Sophie Duker and Kemah Bob present their new WIPs. Two of the best comics around, this is a great chance to see them for dead cheap on your own doorstep. Duker presents But Daddy I Love Her and Bob serves up Miss Fortune, which will both be on critic’s top picks for the Fringe this year so get down to XS this Tuesday to check them out.

Rob Auton at The Lowry | Thu 6 Jun | 8pm | £14

Every time Rob Auton tours, we recommend him in these round-ups, and he keeps on coming around so hopefully some of you are taking our advice. He is quite simply one of the most original performers you will see, and the sooner they put his erudite yet simplistic stylings on the likes of Taskmaster the sooner everyone can realise we are in the presence of genius. His latest show is called The Rob Auton Show, which promises a closer look at what makes him tick. We can’t wait.

The Lowry, Pier 8, The Quays, Salford, M50 3AZ
A Lovely Time with Amy Gledhill & Friends at Fairfield Social Club | Fri 7 Jun | 7pm | £10

Amy Gledhill is back at Fairfield Social Club to host A Lovely Time, which will double as the kicking off of new comedy festival A Lovely Weekend. Over the three days, there will be 16 shows from the likes of Paddy Young, Olga Koch, Fatiha El-Ghorri, Phil Ellis and Gledhill herself across two venues within Fairfield Social Club and it all kicks off on Friday night with Amy, Tom Lawrinson and Josh Jones. Tickets are only a tenner, which also sounds lovely.
