Eshaan Akbar brings his first UK tour to The Lowry, Sian Davies is testing out a new show and Molly McGuinness headlines Monday night mirth.
XS Malarkey continue their Edinburgh preview double bills with a two hander courtesy of Edinburgh Comedy Award Panel Prize winner Sian Davies and American, UK based stand-up Krystal Evans. Having provided tour support for the likes of Zoe Lyons and Stewart Francis, Evans is bringing her debut show to the Fringe this year and expectations are already very high. After a very successful 2022 Fringe, where her compilation show “Best In Class” won the panel prize, Davies will be taking a look at hero worship in new show ‘This Charming Man’, and how not only should you never meet your heroes, it’s best probably to never even think about them.
It’s hard to believe that ‘The Pretender’ is Eshaan Akbar’s debut UK tour, after appearances on the likes of QI and Mock The Week, as well as numerous podcasts, he seems to be a journeyman of the British comedy scene. Perhaps it’s because he still feels like a ‘pretender’, and as he goes into this scintillating hour, so do we all! Akbar shouldn’t of course. He’s one of the country’s finest comics and this debut tour will surely be the start of a long career and not some one and done wonder.
