BIMM Manchester present Live & Lyrical this Thursday 8 July. The showcase will feature 11 acts and be streamed live from Gorilla, premiering at 8pm over on Facebook Live. Hosted by BBC 6 Music’s Chris Hawkins, there will be performances from Ashleigh, The Book Club, Emily Lockett, Emsu, GhostStory., Maxwell Varey, Millie Milner, The Strangerz, Tom Taylor and Laeeqa.

Manchester International Festival is in full flow with a variety of gigs, performances, online content and exhibits to catch this month. If you’re out and about in the city this week, head down to Festival Square (located at Cathedral Gardens) from midday for live music and DJs across three stages – all for free. Taking place everyday until late – there’s loads of amazing performances including Pip Millett (Mon 5, 7:30pm), Chloe Foy (Wed 7, 7:30pm) and a takeover from new Manchester label NRTHN (Sun 11, from 2pm).
