As always, Scruff of the Neck TV provides us with a bi-weekly dose of music telly. Going live over on Twitch every Monday and Wednesday evening from 7:30pm, enjoy tunes and chats with a whole host of talented artists. Painter, poet, songwriter and storyteller Toria Wooff performs a beautiful set of her original folk-rock Americana songs live for Show Stream TV this Wednesday 23 June. Manchester post-bop trip-hop band Moby Dickless headline Northern Quarter venue Aatma this Friday 25 June. With support from CECIL, this socially distanced event has very limited tickets – and priced at just a fiver you’d be silly not to grab one now. Doors are at 7pm.
A four-piece indie rock act from Manchester – Rundown play a headline gig at the Academy this Friday 23 June. Also on the bill will be Culprits, 11:11 and Common Crisis. On Saturday they host a sold out event at Aatma, but if you didn’t get tickets – fear not. We Are Manchester Live are back this Sunday 27 June with a livestream Electro special. Featuring music from Suzanne Ciani, Tony Horgan, Une, Io, Matttech Modular and Sarmism – the event will be curated by electro duo Dots. British jazz singer and lyricist Norma Winstone performs in Manchester this Monday 21 June with ‘A Time Remembered – The Music of Bill Evans’, paying tribute to the pianist and composer who made an immense impact upon contemporary jazz. With a sold out afternoon concert at Stoller Hall, Norma then heads to The Yard for an intimate set accompanied by Stan Sulzmann on saxophone, Nikki Iles on piano and Dave Green on bass. While in-person tickets may be sold out for this too, you can still tune in to the livestream from 7:30pm via a virtual ticket priced at just £5.50.
