From House pioneers at Band on the Wall to huge day parties down in Salford, May’s club lineup is looking mighty impressive.
If you follow house music to its roots, you frequently wind up at Ron Trent’s feet. A true pioneer of the genre both as a DJ and a producer, Trent has stuck to his guns more so than most from that era, which maintains his fierce cult following. Don’t miss this rare chance to catch a master in action at Irfan Rainy’s bday shindig.
White Hotel regulars Ordinary Friends hit up the DBA for the first time with a day party to kick off summer. They invite vinyl selector, Scarlett O’Malley, known for eclectic show on Rinse FM and house label, Club Cowgirl, and Manchester-based duo, Maclo.
Tom2Trax and Liam Oliver return to the Eagle Inn with their flagship night Room2Move, this time inviting Bakk Heia’s boss Bitzer Maloney for a headline set. Maloney’s label and clubnight has been doing the business down at White Hotel for over 7 years, with bleeps and bloops the focus.
YouTube channel Powered by Rec has been churning out high-end video recordings of some of the biggest house DJs around for about two years now. After the success of their debut party with DJ Absolutely Shit back in March, they’re back with 1/3 of Hessle Audio Trio, Pangaea, who’ll be spinning for 4 hours alongside Open To Close head honcho Rhod Parry, who recently got his first Radio 1 play, courtesy of Moxie.
