Local label, Ad Hoc Records have been making noise in the city since 2017, hosting events at Ducie Street Warehouse, YES, Hidden and now BOTW, as well as gaining radio support on Radio 1 and NTS. For two live sets they invite Glue70, riding high off the release of his funky house Icecream EP, as well as fresh name on the scene, Mangetout, who’ll be playing live at Parklife Festival this summer.

Fresh off the back of his debut Boiler Room set, Matthew Neequaye takes the reins of the Derbyshire Brewery Arms for perception, who are hosting a day party to set the summer off right. The Butter Side Up resident is joined by DJs from Time Flies and Coalesce, as well Body Double and Method Collective. Expect house and techno flavours from across the board.

Escape to Freight Island continue to spice up their weekends with exciting disco and house names, this time inviting NYC’s Body and Soul founder, Joe Claussell for a headline set, alongside local legend, Ifran Rainy. Claussell has been churning out classic house records since the early days, making him one of the original purveyors of the genre.

Summer of Love Festival | The Love Factory | 27/28 Aug | £80 for Weekend

After its incredible first edition in 2021, Summer of Love returns to the Love Factory, its purpose-built/converted warehouse, as well as adding three more stages including their intimate space, the Loft. Once again the lineup is a who’s who of deep and minimal house, including ANOTR, Eris Drew and the returning a:rpia:r. Anthea & Oshana top a new Resident Advisor stage alongside Craig Richards b2b Ben UFO.

Repercussion Festival | The Warehouse Project | Sat 10 Sep | £45

WHP returned with another killer opening season of events, beginning with a Bonobo and Caribou gig, but 2022 also sees the return of their new day festival, Repercussion, which started with a bang last year with a lineup to challenge most outdoor festivals, and then some. This year is no different, with Jamie XX, Jeff Mills and Little Simz among the names. Carista returns to the Concourse after a blinding set in 2021.
