This Monday sees the critically acclaimed Ana Roxanne hit Blues Kitchen for a night of blissed out ambient; she plays live alongside Meitei, a Japanese export with a show that is ‘indebted to East Asian instrumentation and Japanese history’. This is an unreserved seating show so get down early to get the best spots.
Garage promoters Warped have launched a weekly night down at the newly christened XLR in Withington, this being the third instalment. They invite UKG stalwart Oldboy for a 90 minute set alongside Kisa, Preacher and Skint. Expect plenty of breaks, speed garage and UK funky.
Fatima Yamaha’s track What’s a Girl To Do had many iterations as a cult classic, culminating in a re-issue on Dekmantel, which hosted his live set on Boiler Room. After some heavy touring and a big break, it looks as though he’s back, presumably with new music. He’s invited by Warehouse Project to New Century, which has been fully refurbished with the aim of being a full-time venue for the first time in its 50+ year history. Special Guests TBA.
