It’s the last XS Malarkey of the year, Comedy Vault is still keeping spirits bright on a Monday and something called GMIM is launching in this week’s pick of the best comedy around.
It’s the last XS Malarkey of the year and they’re going out with a bang as Rob Rouse, Susan Riddel and Vix Leyton take to the Bread Shed stage for a XSmas spesh. Toby Hadoke will be on hand to take you through the final show before Christmas with his usual wonderful, rambling amiability in what proves to be week-in week-out the best comedy show in the city and in Rouse they have a headliner that matches Hadoke’s smart thinking and meandering style to give us a cozy warmth ready for Crimbo.
We know little of what to expect of this night seemingly based on crypto-currency and the dawn of the NFT. All we do know is that it’s the brainchild of eccentric and idiosyncratic stand-up Eryn Tett and she may or may not have killed her billionaire father. The location of the show is yet to be announced, we presume to throw the cops of the scent of this most crooked of business but if you reserve your space for this Thursday night’s launch of GMIM we’re sure you’ll have an unforgettable evening. Tett has proven herself adept at high concept comedy and with the world of online art ripe for parody we can’t wait to see what she’s up to. And where she’s up to!

Comedy clubs at Christmas time can be a horrid beast. Full of office parties that began at midday and have included 100 too many Jaegerbombs. So we might we suggest that if you want to get your stand-up fix in the week leading up to “Mad Friday” that you choose a smaller scale open mic night that’s always a treat? Heck, there’s sure to be a couple of crazy-eyed loud-mouths but at least they’ll be holding the mic and trying their best! Comedy Vault has had a stellar year and always has a welcoming vibe that’s sure to be upped for a Christmas special at Fierce Bar.
