Looking for ways to keep the kids busy over the Easter break? We’ve got you covered with a handful of Easter egg trails, hunts and activities that’ll be taking place in and around Greater Manchester.
As well as an Alice in Wonderland-themed Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt at their popular ice cream shop, Dunham Massey runs a magical month-long trail which passes by the Stables – in which you can meet Sir Oliver, the beloved horse – and through the Winter Garden, from which you can spot fallow deer. The trail also includes a dairy or free-from chocolate egg for every kid.
Alongside their astounding variety of year-rounding activities, including an indoor play barn, pony grooming, adventure play, tractor rides and more, Reddish Vale Farm’s Easter Eggstravagansza – also themed on Alice in Wonderland – features a chocolate egg trail, a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, photo opportunities with a cast of characters and one golden egg, hidden hourly, which grants the finder a special prize.
Promising the ‘biggest, best and most eggciting egg hunts around’, Bolton’s favourite farm offers sweets, chocolates, teddy bears, photo opportunities and prizes as part of their Easter festivities, alongside their usual exciting activities which include donkey rides, meet the meerkats sessions, farm-made ice cream and lamb-feeding in the ever-popular Pets Corner.
As well as a Family Silent Disco and Pop-up Market, Tatton Park’s generous Easter programme includes their Garden Trail based on the children’s classic, The Tiger Who Came to Tea. Mapped throughout the park’s idyllic spring gardens, the trail encourages kids to explore and engage with nature, the great outdoors and the story of everyone’s favourite furry feline. Betwween Fri 7 and Mon 10 Apr, little ones on the trail will receive a chocolate treat.
Featuring an Easter trail sheet, pencil, bunny ears and Rainforest Alliance Certified dairy or vegan and Free From* chocolate egg for every young participant, Lyme Park’s Easter trail provides families with a captivating afternoon rooting about in nature, playing games and exploring the enormous National Trust site.
