From whimsical treehouses and luxury camping pods to kitted-out shepherd’s huts and glamorous bell tents immersed in nature, we’ve picked out some of the best and most unique spots for glamping, all within a couple of hours of Manchester.
Less than a mile outside of the village of Denshaw, Cherry Clough Farm is a five-minute drive from the Pennine Way. Priced at £95 per night, and surrounded by countryside, this adults-only shepherd’s hut is compact but filled with all you’ll need for a relaxing stay. There’s an ensuite shower room, kitchen area with electric hob, oven, fridge and wood-burning stove.

Disley Meadow offers spectacular views towards the Peak District National Park, whilst also having the convenience of being just a five-minute walk from shops and the charm of Disley Village.
Several popular walking routes are easily reachable from the site, including the famous Millennium Walkway. Kayak hire is also available, and, for little ones, you can even meet and feed friendly alpacas.

There are numerous motorhome and tent pitch zones, along with a stylish pre-pitched bell tent which sleeps up to four people. Priced at £100 per night for two adults.
Nestled in a private wildflower paddock with uninterrupted views of magnificent Kinder Scout, The Curlew Shepherds Hut comes equipped with designer fabrics, furnishings and fittings throughout. There’s a king-sized bed, walk-in shower, handmade kitchen with Belfast sink, a cast-iron electric stove, and a fire pit, perfect for stargazing.

The generously sized hut — which can be booked for £330 for 3 nights — is the only holiday let at Hilltop Farm and has its own attractive gravel terrace, and there’s also private use of an enclosed summer house in the meadow. The location is great for walkers, surrounded by a vast network of footpaths and bridleways, providing moorland, woodland, countryside and canal walks from the door.
Marple Bridge and its excellent selection of food and drink spots are just 3 miles away, as is the historic town of New Mills.
Set on the edge of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park, Yurtshire accommodation is set across two sites: Fountains Meadows, featuring hand-crafted Round Yurts, and Eavestone Lake, featuring unique Tree-Yurts – both of which are surrounded by a mix of wild meadow pastures, peaceful woodlands, scenic hills and woodland lakes.

Spa treatments, which take place in the unique Spa Treatment Yurt, can be pre-booked on selected days. Yurtshire also offers a variety of yoga classes each week, and wild swimming can be enjoyed in the secluded Eavestone Lake.
Catgill Farm offers guests a selection of accommodation options, including premium glamping pods with stunning stargazing domes, dog-friendly pods, and themed pods inspired by destinations from around the world.
On site, there’s Cat’s Kitchen serving freshly made stone-baked pizzas, barista coffees, pastries, and hot sausage sandwiches. There are also friendly alpacas, a children’s playground and a dedicated dog walking and agility field.
A well-stocked shop is available on site for any essentials, too.

Deep in the Baxby Manor estate, half a mile from the main house, the fairytale-esque, two-story Rufus’s Roost boasts stunning floor-to-ceiling windows, a wrap-around veranda nestled amongst the treeline, a modern bathroom, pizza oven, hot tub and a tunnel leading to a secluded reading nook.
The grounds are filled with wildlife, and the North York Moors and the Dales are nearby for dramatic hikes. In the other direction, you can find the historic town of Malton, renowned for its culinary offerings.

Just 15 minutes from Blackpool, the award-winning Stanley Villa Farm is perfect for families looking to enjoy nature while being just down the road from an array of seaside attractions.

The farm-based glamping site features 25 camping pods (some with wood-fired hot tubs) and 10 bell tents. Each unit comes with a fire pit, and a 24-hour Lakeside Lodge is stocked with everything you might need during your stay.
Guests can make use of the on-site fishing lake, and kids can feed the animals with owner Alex and his family.
Less of a secret these days after featuring on Four in a Bed and a successful stint on Dragons’ Den, during which the team received four offers before ultimately taking up Deborah Meaden’s offer.

While that cash injection has allowed the team to expand across the UK, the original Skelmersdale location is still central to their offering. The site offers 13 glamping pods with a variety of impressive features. One, for instance, is a giant igloo which stands proud at 7 metres tall, complete with underfloor heating, smart TVs, a fully equipped kitchen, an outdoor bar, private decking areas, hot tub, sauna, cold plunge pool, two double beds and more.
Another, The Luxe, is the last new unit for the original site, sleeping up to 6 people and comes with a 6-person outdoor hot tub, 4k cinema, cold plunge pool and hot outdoor shower.
