Can’t wait to get back into beer gardens? With lockdown restrictions starting to ease, your hoppy dreams will soon become a sun-trap reality. To celebrate, we’ve rounded up a list of Manchester bars and pubs that are taking table bookings for when normality starts to return. As always, be sure to visit each venue’s site and socials to double check availability before booking – and head back here regularly as we update the list with more spaces. See you in the pub!

Grab a seat and a bite to eat at Grub's eco-friendly beer garden

The Grub team have been hooking us up with the best street food and drink Manchester has to offer for the past few years – and when lockdown hit, their online web-shop brought it direct to our doors. While this did wonders for our pandemic moral, we certainly can’t wait to get back to their new city-centre venue. Having recently set up shop at the Red Bank Project behind Victoria Station, their bright and breezy eco-friendly beer garden quickly became our new favourite hang out spot. Table bookings for Summer 2021 are bound to fly out fast – but you can try your luck at securing a space by following the link below.

Head to Hatch for street food, locally crafted beer and summer vibes

Hatch on Oxford Road quickly became a must-visit spot for all those seeking a beer and a bite to eat in the Manchester sun. The sprawling venue – which is made up of a series of colourful metal shipping containers – not only features Takk’s coffee shop, Vin-Yard’s wine bar and a handful of pop-up pubs including nano-brewery keg bar Öl, it also boasts some of the city’s best indie retailers and street food vendors. Their line-up is changing all the time, and when we’re not in the midst of a global pandemic, there’s always something fun happening on their pop-up stage, making a trip to Hatch very worthwhile. Escape to Freight Island's beer hall for some live entertainment

A relative newcomer to Manchester’s beer-hall scene, Escape To Freight Island took over the Mayfield Depot while we were all in the midst of the first lockdown, debuting a series of soft launches throughout 2020 whenever they were possible. As Christmas neared, they revealed two new additions to their already-air space – Winter Island and The Ticket Hall – each featuring new activities, additional street food vendors and bars, and more scope for live entertainment. With restrictions starting to ease, the second half of 2021 is gearing up to be a big time for Freight Island. Table bookings open on Monday 1 March. To find out more, follow the link below.

Soak up views of the city at 20 Stories' roof terrace

20 Stories are inviting eager punters to enjoy some rooftop cocktails on their glamorous and airy terrace space as soon as lockdown lifts. As if that wasn’t tempting enough, now that the ‘substantial meal’ restrictions are no more the venue can also serve up some delicious dishes – like hotdogs, burgers, fries and snacks – to keep your belly full while you enjoy a few summer drinks and some much-needed catch up time. Grab a sunny spot in Spinningfields at The Oast House

Spinningfields beer garden The Oast House is currently accepting table bookings of up to 6 people for when lockdown restrictions lift on April 12.
