Royal T | South | Tue 22 Jun | £8

One of three pillars of TQD, the kings of the bassline revival, Royal T’s reputation as one of the best garage DJs around is indisputable. He’ll be doing a history of UKG set down at South the day after clubs reopen. What’s more, it’s an extended set, and hopefully England will have just won their first match at the Euros, which means anticipation for this one couldn’t be higher.

Freddy K, Lady Machine | Progress Centre | Sat 24 Jul | £15

All-female collective Meat Free have been bringing the finest in house and techno to Manchester since 2013, and post-COVID is no different. They’re kicking off with cult hero Freddy K, who’s been quietly maintaining his rep’ as one of the best in techno since the 1991 with his label, KEY vinyl. He’s joined by fellow Berliner and Brazilian vinyl maestro, The Lady Machine, one half of the Unterwegs imprint, and Manchester’s hottest new talent, YANT.

The Ghost, Youandewan | Progress Centre | Sat 31 Jul | £18

House and techno promoters Partial were just getting started when the pandemic hit, much like the Progress Centre. The buzz around this new venue will be reaching fever pitch by the summer, don’t sleep while all the tickets sell out. Berlin based duo The Ghost are joined by Yorkshire born Youandewan for this must-see show.

Ben Sims b2b DJ Bone, Saoirse b2b Willow | Hidden | Sun 29 Aug | £14/Day, £25/Night

After six years of killer events Hidden are celebrating with Margaret Dygas in the day, followed by a massive line-up for the night with seven headliners across three rooms. There’re two unlikely pairings for b2bs, a special guest from Detroit, as well as DJ Boring and Randomer topping off a bill of local artists. Tickets are separate for the day and night parties, but we highly recommend getting both.

Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs | YES | Fri 10 Sep | £15

It’s been years since Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaur’s seminal debut album, but a steady stream of remixes and EPs has kept hype around the one-man band going, and then some. This rare sighting is made all the more special by the fact it’s a DJ set at the intimate confines of the Pink Room at YES, presented by indie promoter Now Wave. Not so extinct after all, eh?
