From a swanky Mediterranean to a huge new taproom from one of Manchester’s favourite breweries, November looks set to be another huge month of impressive openings.
Coming from the much-loved local family teams behind Seven Bro7hers and Four Sisters brewing, 11 Central will be a huge new taproom, complete with brewery and tasting areas. It joins the exciting new Kargo MKT food hall which has gone down an absolute storm in its first few months at Salford Quays. 11 Central opens to the public from Fri 17 Nov.
Award-winning food hall Mackie Mayor has always had a lot going for it, but cocktails have always been the one thing missing. Well, that’s no longer the case. Stray has taken over the former Atkinsons Coffee space bringing an array of wonderful cocktails to the stunning space, meaning you can sip on a marg as you mull over what’s for tea.
Leeds hit Rola Wala has opened its first Manchester location on Deansgate, with a promise of ‘bringing proper lunches, epic dinner and late night loving’. The team’s signature is the build-your-own naan rolls, which offer guests the chance to combine a selection of Indian fillings. For every naan sold, Rola Wala also provides a meal to a child living in poverty.
The always-popular pop-up Bar Hütte is back, taking up its usual spot at Great Northern Square, along with a second site at Kampus. Bar Hütte at Kampus will see a new outdoor terrace, comprising of eight snug, wooden karaoke hüttes nestled beneath the trees. There will also be an ‘Aprés Ski Bungalow’, serving as an indoor alpine bar for walk-ins or bookings for larger groups, while the Great Northern site will feature 15 cosy hüttes and a packed entertainment schedule of live singers and DJs.
The team behind Tattu are stepping into a brand-new concept, bringing a ‘modern Greek’ restaurant to the St John’s development around the old Granada Studios. FENIX’s kitchen will be led by Ippokratis Anagnostelis and Zisis Giannouras, both of whom have been recruited from Greece, where they boast serious acclaim and mightily impressive resumes.
After its crowdfunding campaign was met with overwhelming support, The Pearl becomes the latest addition to Prestwich’s flourishing foodie scene. Co-owner Sam was behind the beloved SanSan lockdown butty delivery service, while acclaimed chef Iain Thoms has joined to lead the kitchen, which will serve up an expertly curated menu of season British dishes.
Taking up residence on the bustling Beech Road, Una Mas is a Latin-inspired bar and kitchen specialising in excellent cocktails and wine, along with a selection of delicious dishes that range from Peruvian spiced chicken and beef tacos to crispy bacon polenta and mango habanero glazed chicharrón.
The latest name to join the ranks at New Century is an extremely familiar one, as Mancunian legends the Hip Hop Chip Shop begin slinging their elevated take on the traditional chippy from Fri 10 Nov. The team, who were named second best chippy in the UK earlier this year, source their fresh fish from Fraserburgh Port, Aberdeenshire, with an aim of serving up the fish on guests’ plates within 24-36 hours of being caught.

Already a firm favourite in Manchester thanks to its more accessible take on the traditional tasting menu format, Six by Nico is set to open its second location in the city. Heading to Deansgate’s John Dalton Street, the new spot opens on Thu 30 Nov, kicking off with a Toyko-inspired menu at its usual price point of six courses for £39.
