Box fresh venue, restaurant, wellness centre and bar, CANVAS opened this week, just off Oxford Road, filling the gap in the southern parts of town that you didn’t know existed. It’s £15 a month for membership, which gets you discounts on food and drink, free yoga classes and best of all, free entry to two events per month, including this launch party in the Members’ bar with SNO and Dischi. Following a killer party with broken techno stalwart, re:ni, Tom Boogizm returns to White Hotel with his $hotta Rave, this time inviting bassline veteran, DJ Q and NTS resident, Finn for a night of womp and garage finishing at 10am.

Street Light w/ Al Wootton | Stage and Radio | Sat 16 July | £6

Audio-visual troupe Street Light are known for their DJ guest mix series, filmed at their base in Didsbury. They hit Ancoats basement club, Stage and Radio for a night of percussive bass sounds from headliner, Al Wootton. He’s joined by electro and techno magician Esmé, whose Narr Radio mix was made Resident Advisor Mix of the Day in May.

This DJ has maintained his position as one of the foremost purveyors of OG Chicago and Baltimore house, earning him credibility amongst the pioneers of the genre like Kerri Chandler. What’s more, his disco collection is second to none, making him one of the most reliable party starters around. He’s joined by Warehouse Project resident, Joe Motion and Aisling, who makes her Loft debut, hot off the back of her Parklife set.
